Hi everybody,
as you all know my French is not the best so I will try in English after I recovered a little. My personel review of the race:
- from an organizers view is was the most quiet race that I have ever attended or organized, no matter whether it was during day or during the night session. There have never been so few stop-and-go penaltys in a digital race before!! No screaming on the track or at marshalls. I always wandered through the hall in a bent position always awaiting that something unexpected would happen, but nothing went wrong at all. This is only because the teams and drivers were very respectfull and behaved perfectly!!!!!!
- of course emotionaly I am still shaken because of Yves announcement and because of the standing ovations to continue after I announced my retirement from the organization of the Salzburg event for a year. But my decision is fixed!
- from a drivers point of view two accasions will stick in my mind for a long time: first the marshall that fell asleep during night and the whole hall screamed at him to wake him up which was the case in the end, but unfortunately instead of putting the car infront of him back on the track he put one of the decoration houses back on the track...... and secondly Günter Rüben who was standing next to me on the driver stand during night and started "dancing" suddenly saying something about those damm flys that are all over him. A minute later he asked my if the flys are over me now as they all left him........ something to learn here - never go on a driver stand during night with short trousers on during summer!!!!!
- a special thanks to my team (ERMS) for a funny and relaxed weekend and a very special thanks to Walter for the fantastic car!!!!!
- many thanks also to those that helped us to pack everything out of the hall!!!!!! We never finished at 20.00h before!!!!
- a very special highlight was the evening meal after the race with around 35 participants. Everybody was discussing in so many different languages with hands and feet, but the communication was exellent
- I looked through around 800 pictures yesterday that we were alloud to copy from all the cameras and I saw only smiling faces on the pictures there
The final result:
1. SRBC
2. Vanos
3. ERMS
4. Rhein-Main
5. Los
6. Grenzland
7. Squash
8. Overdrive
9. ASA Italia
10. Slot Bavaria
11. Slot Tigers
12. Slot Devils
13. Donau - Altmühltal
14. SRC Pöring
I hope to see everybody at the next races and I hope you all had that much fun as I had!!
See you soon,
Nico
